Stuart McFeely Architecture is a Seattle-based architectural firm specializing in new homes, residential remodels and restaurant design. Stylistically, the work ranges from Northwest craftsman to contemporary, reflecting the clients’ sensibilities and lifestyles. The practice stresses functional design, cost-effectiveness, visual appeal, enhancing clients’ aesthetic experience, and ease of living. Sustainability is fundamental to our design and philosophy and we are experts in expediting permits with building departments, development in critical areas, and other land-use issues.

Stuart McFeely Architecture is a two-person firm with Stuart being the principal architect and his associate, Julie Templeton. Stuart is licensed in the states of Washington, New York and Vermont, and has practiced in the Seattle/Mercer Island/Eastside metropolitan area for 24 years.

Julie Templeton is a certified sustainable design consultant, is working on her architectural licensing, and joined the firm 15 years ago. Our working partnership combines 39 years of experience with construction projects in the northwest.

Our work has extended as far east as Twisp, north to the San Juan Islands, and south to Thurston County; our projects range in value from about $50,000 to $1,000,000; and our typical projects include kitchen and basement remodels, garage additions, master suite and 2nd floor additions, accessory dwelling units, retail and commercial alterations, restaurants, and new houses.

Every project—no matter the size—presents new challenges and creative opportunities. If I have a watchword underlying all my work, it’s “holism,” the concept that the product is greater than the sum of its parts. In practical terms, this means I help shape the client’s whole experience, from identifying needs, through design development, permitting, establishing a timeline, and choosing a builder, to estimating and managing costs. I look forward to walking you through the architectural process and helping your project become a reality.
